LIVE: Anti-Vucic Protests Continue Across Serbia
Stay tuned for all the latest developments as thousands of people protested in towns across Serbia against what they call the “dictatorship” of Aleksandar Vucic, the president-elect and current prime minister.

For the forth day in a row, protesters have gathered in front of the parliament building in Belgrade at the rally against the rule of Serbian Prime Minister and President-Elect Aeksandar Vucic.
Protests are being also staged in other towns, including Novi Sad.

Among several thousands in anti-government protesters in Serbian town of Nis was a number of pensioners, families with children and former employees of bankrupted public companies. Demonstrators carried banners “You Try to Live on 200 Euros” and “We are Hungry” as they walked through the city.
With the sound of drums and whistles they shout “Vucic Tief, You Stole the Vote!,” “You Betrayed Serbia!” and “We Do Not Give [You] Nis!”.

Protests against what demonstrators call “dictatorship” of Serbian Prime Minister and President-Elect Aleksandar Vucic are ending in Belgrade with shouts "See You Tomorrow!"Several thousands citizens, mainly youth, were walking through central Belgrade streets shouting “Vucic Theif!” and “Down with Dictatorship!”.
Citizens wave and greeted them from their balconies and windowds as they passed through the city.
At one moment, the public lightening in central Kralja Milana Street went off as protesters were passing.
Earlier tonight, protesters stopped in front of the building of Yugoslav Drama Theatre to greet “all those who went out [protesting] against the dictatorship in Serbian towns.”
In front of the building of the Central Electoral Commission protesters asked “Where are Our Votes!” protesting against the irregularities during April 2 presidential elections.

Protesters in Serbia are calling for the immediate resignation of the government as well as Maja Gojkovic, the Serbian parliamentary speaker who they claim unlawfully prorogued parliament during campaigning ahead of Sunday’s presidential vote.
Other demands include cleaning up the electoral roll that is said to contain the names of more than a million ineligible voters - including deceased Serbs - and implementing measures to ensure the public broadcaster is independent from government and free of political influence.
They are also demanding the removal of the top management at the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Media and the State Electoral Commission.

Serbia’s Minister of Public Administration, Ana Brnabic, denied today that the register of voters contains 800,000 more names than there are of people aged over 18 in the country, after a rumour about it started circulating on Facebook pages connected with the ongoing nationwide protests against Serbian Prime Minister and President-elect Aleksandar Vucic.A revision of the register of voters is one of the demands set by some of the protesters attending the nightly rallies in towns and cities across the country.Brnabic, however, says that the register is well maintained, and that data from the census should not be compared with the data from the voters' register.

The Students Movement, which is organising the protests in Novi Sad, told BIRN want the government to resign along with top officials from the public broadcasters RTS and RTV, the Central Electoral Commission, RIK, and the regulatory Authority for Electronic Media, REM.
They also demand the resignation of Maja Gojkovic, the speaker of parliament, who they claim broke the law when she prorogued parliament ahead of the presidential vote.

Serbian Prime Minister and president-elect Aleksandar Vucic said he respects everybody's right to peaceful protest, Beta news agency reports. He told journalists in the southern town of Smederevska Palanka that there are „no problems“ with the country's stability.„I know a lot of Serbia's citizens would want to do something different, to give response, to do something. There is no need, people. Everything is fine, everything is peaceful,“ Vucic said.

Several hundred people protested in the southern city of Nis, vowing to continue until the authorities „take them seriously“, Beta news agency reports. They marched to the local television station NTV, demanding the media to cover the protest and inform citizens objectively.

Protesters in Belgrade stopped briefly in front of the national broadcaster, RTS, where a person speaking on a megaphone invited the group to observe a moment of silence for two army pilots who were killed in a training accident earlier today. The relative silence lasted only briefly, though, as the moment was not coordinated.
